cole: cole is a free C OLE library. cole can handle Microsoft OLE2 files, i.e. the OLEdecode function extract streams from such kind of files, while the OLEcode function takes some streams and generate a OLE2 file. Examples of OLE2 files are Microsoft Word 6.0/95/97 (.doc), Excel 95/97 (.xls), Publisher (.pub) and PowerPoint (.ppt) files. cole is for developers that wish to handle OLE2 streams in an environment where Microsoft original functions are not available.
